Call for Entries: MONACO SAKE AWARD 2025
Welcome to the MONACO SAKE AWARD 2025.
We are honored to have H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco participate in the judging process.
In celebration of cultural exchange between Monaco and Japan, your sake will be evaluated by
Monaco's leading sommeliers and distinguished guests at one of the world’s most prestigious
social venues, the Yacht Club de Monaco.
Overview
The MONACO SAKE AWARD 2025 will honor outstanding sakes in the following six categories:
- Grand Prix : Awarded to the highest-scoring sake based on the judges’ point-based evaluation.
- Mariage Award : Given to the sake that best matches the year’s theme.
- Gold Award, Junmai Daiginjo / Daiginjo : For exceptional sake in this category.
- Gold Award, Junmai Ginjo / Ginjo : For outstanding sake in this category.
- Gold Award, Junmai / Honjozo : For distinguished sake in this category./li>
- Gold Award, Futsushu (Standard Sake) : For excellent sake in the standard category.
The theme of the Mariage Award for this 5th edition (2025) is Mozzarella Cheese.
All entries will be evaluated chilled.
Entry Guidelines
＜Eligibility＞
- Open to all sake products (including unreleased or award-specific creations).
- Multiple entries are allowed per brewery.
- Only pasteurized sake will be accepted. Nama-sake (unpasteurized) entries will not be considered.
- Each entry requires 4 bottles (500ml or more per bottle).
- Please ensure secure international shipping packaging, including cushioning and sturdy outer boxes.
＜Judging＞
- Selected entries will be judged in Monaco in October 2025 (tentative schedule).
- All submitted sake will be stored in a dedicated refrigerated facility in Japan until shipment and judging.
＜Entry Deadline＞
- Friday, August 29, 2025, 17:00 JST
- Incomplete entry forms will not be accepted.
＜Shipping Instructions＞
- After completing your entry via the official website, shipping details will be emailed to you.
- Please note: Entries are not accepted directly in Monaco. All shipments must be sent to our designated warehouse in Saitama, Japan.
- Sake must arrive no later than Wednesday, September 10, 2025 (AM). We recommend early shipping to avoid last-minute delays.
＜Entry Fee＞
- 55,000 JPY (tax included) per entry.
- Payment must be made by Friday, August 29, 2025, via bank transfer to a Japanese account.
- After your entry is submitted, you will receive bank details and an entry ID by email.
- When making your payment, include your entry ID followed by your brewery name as the payment reference.
- Please ensure that you can receive emails from @monacosake.com by updating your email filters if necessary.
